Moths, Meteors, and the Milky Way
Discover the night sky with Cox Arboretum MetroPark and the Boonshoft Museum. Night tours of the Butterfly House will get you a new look at some of the house's more secretive residents, the moths. The Boonshoft Astronomy Department and the Dayton Regional STEM School's 8th grade science teacher, Brittnee Lydy, will help you unlock some of the mysteries of the Milky Way on the night of the annual Perseid meteor shower. Join Cox Arboretum, Time Warner Cable, and the Boonshoft Museum from 7-10 pm on Thursday, August 12 at Cox Arboretum for this STEM event. Bring a blanket and a picnic snack for this family nighttime adventure. This should be really interesting. The peak will be much later but as it gets to be one of the larger showers annually.
