Young Women’s Summit seeks girls aged 12 through 18
The Governor’s Office for Women’s Initiatives and Outreach (GOWIO) and First Lady Frances Strickland are coordinating a statewide Momentum 2010 Young Women’s Summit to take place Sunday, March 7, at the Columbus School for Girls in Columbus. Registration deadline for the event is Feb. 15. The summit is designed to bring together young women (aged 12-18) of diverse backgrounds from across the state, to celebrate their potential and learn about issues including entrepreneurship, leadership, self-esteem, accessing higher education in Ohio and nontraditional career fields for women. A $5 registration fee includes a boxed lunch.

For the conference schedule and registration information, visit: www.ohiowomen2010.org and look for the “young women’s” box above the video. Direct questions to Melissa Marshall at mmarshall@regents.state.oh.us or Earnika Pitts at (614) 644-2103. The Young Women’s Summit is part of a two-day event intended to promote the advancement of women and girls through education, economics and health.
